Speak without shame

Silence should never be the price of being strong.

Whether you are carrying pain yourself or worried about somebody you love, you deserve a safe next step. Read quietly, share anonymously, or connect with trained help right now.

I’m worried about someone

You do not have to handle this by yourself.

You can call or text 988 for guidance even when the person in pain is someone else. If you share with this community, describe what you are noticing without posting their name, phone number, address, school, workplace, or other identifying details.

  1. 1
    Ask directly and listen.

Take what they say seriously. Stay calm and avoid judgment or lectures.

  2. 2
    Do not promise secrecy.

If they describe a plan to hurt themselves, involve trained help and someone who can stay with them.

  3. 3
    Help them connect.

Call or text 988 together. If danger is immediate, call 911.
